Loan Periods Exceptions

Patrons are advised to check with the library owning the item, as some libraries have unique loan periods for certain specialized categories of material.

Cards

Valid Queen's Library Cards

  • Library cards may only be used by the card owner.
  • All fees incurred are the responsibility of the card owner.

  • A current valid student or staff card.
  • Please note that there is a delay issuing student cards at this time.  Please bring other ID to sign out materials.

  • A letter informing us of your retirement or a retiree card issued by Human Resources. 
  • The card issued by the library must be renewed yearly. 

  • A current RMC student or staff card. Note: The card must have an RMC barcode.
  • To view your account online, you will need a password. Please Ask Us for assistance. 

  • A current SLC student or staff card. Note: The card must have an SLC barcode

  • Alumni must provide a valid Alumni card which can be requested from Alumni Services.

  • A valid Ontario College of Teachers card must be presented.
  • A courtesy card will be issued for a 3 year term.

Lost or Stolen Cards

Lost or stolen library cards should be reported immediately, as follows:

  • Queen's students: Report to the Registrar's Office as well as to the nearest Information desk.
  • Queen's faculty and staff: Report to Human Resources as well as to the nearest Information desk.
  • All other borrowers: Report to the nearest Information desk.

Borrowing Limits

Patron groups have set borrowing and fines limits that may restrict access to material.
