We are excited to announce the expansion and revitalization of the Queen’s Adaptive Technology Centre (ATC) as part of the Stauffer Library Ground Floor Renovation. The ATC will be undergoing renovations beginning in Spring 2024 to meet the evolving needs of users. For this reason, the Adaptive Technology Centre and Library Accessibility Services will be moving to the ground floor of Douglas Library on April 30 and will return to the revitalized space in Stauffer Library as early as possible in the fall term. We are pleased to welcome you to our temporary space in Douglas Library (in the former location of the Queen’s Quarterly), which will include:

Adaptive Technology Study Room (Douglas room 404), which will be available to book after April 30.

Adaptive Technology Lab (Douglas room 405), equipped with sit stand desks, computers, laptop stations and adaptive software.

Library Accessibility Services staff will continue to operate Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, temporarily in these office locations:

  • Coordinator, Adaptive Technology Centre, Douglas room 402
  • Adaptive Technologist, Douglas room 402B
  • Alternate Format Specialist, Douglas room 402 D
  • Library Accessibility Services Assistant, Douglas room 402 C

The Adaptive Technology Centre at Queen’s University Library has been a leader in accessible academic library spaces since 1991, beginning as the Adaptive Technology Lab in Douglas Library before moving to Stauffer Library and expanding in 2005. We are excited to see this next evolution of the Adaptive Technology Centre nearly 20 years later.

Additional bookable study rooms with adaptive technology at Queen’s University Library include:

  • Bracken Health Sciences Library, room 134
  • Lederman Law Library, room 218
  • Lederman Law Library, room 219
