Introduction
The library reports to the Provost and Vice-Principal Academic through the Vice-Provost and University Librarian. The library has strong connections with each faculty, with Faculty Advisory Committees and the Senate Library Committee providing forums to discuss services and strategic priorities.
Library Advisory Committees
Library Advisory Committees provide a forum for the library and the associated faculties to discuss and inform Library services and strategic priorities.
The term of office for faculty and student members is one year, with the possibility of extension. All faculty members are welcome as guests at meetings.
Committees include:
- Faculty of Arts and Science - Science
- Faculty of Arts and Science - Humanities and Social Sciences
- Faculty of Education
- Faculty of Health Sciences
- Faculty of Law
- Smith Engineering
- Smith School of Business

Senate Library Committee
Senate Library Committee:
- Provides advice to Senate regarding:
Continuing matters and broad policies relating to the library's support for the academic needs of the University;
Strategic planning for the library, including but not limited to the budgetary process;
Senate policies that affect the library.
- Supports Senate in serving as a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas among the members of the University community in all matters of an academic character relating to Library services and resources.
- Provides a written report annually to Senate, and to report at such other times as may be necessary or appropriate.
