As a part of the Teaching and Learning Month at Queen’s (May–June) Queen's University Library invites you to join a talk entitled “Special Connections: Enriching Student Learning with Library Collections & Collaborations”. The talk showcases how faculty and librarians work together to enhance students' teaching and learning experience by integrating library resources and expertise into the curriculum. 

The speakers will discuss the many pleasures and few challenges involved in integrating library collections from W.D. Jordan Rare Book & Special Collections Library into teaching using a recent senior seminar in English literature (ENGL436): A Material History of Book and Print Culture. This collaborative experience was awarded the 2025 Queen's Principal’s Promoting Student Inquiry Award.

  • Leslie Ritchie is a Professor of English Literature at Queen's University.
  • Brendan Edwards is Curator at W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections, Queen’s University Library.
  • Kim Bell is the Coordinator at W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections, Queen’s University Library.
  • Alejandro Arauz is the Undergraduate Chair of the Fine Art Program at Queen's University.
  • Nasser Saleh is the Librarian for Educational Initiatives at Queen's University Library (Host and Moderator)
