Information Services at Queen’s University Library is once again hiring for Work Study positions during the Fall 2026 to Winter 2027 academic year.

Student Assistants are a vital part of the library, and ensure library locations across campus continue to be a premier destination for research, study, and collaboration. In particular, Student Assistants are front-line ambassadors creating a welcoming environment, providing a high-level of responsiveness and expertise in day-to-day services, and enabling student success through access to resources and research help.

Applicants must be Queen’s students who are eligible for the Work-Study Program, and possess excellent customer service skills. Shifts occur throughout all library operating hours and are usually 3 to 4.5 hours in length. Attention to detail, punctuality, dependability, and good organizational skills are important. Experience as a student using library resources and services is preferred, but not essential. The current rate of pay is $17.95 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay.

Interested applicants should review the job description and the associated qualifications through the Queen’s University Career Services website under the Work-Study tab. Once the posting has been read and instructions have been followed (e.g., file naming conventions), the applicant should email a copy of their cover letter and resume directly to the email indicated on the job posting (library.train-coord@queensu.ca).
