June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to celebrate the contributions and achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples in Ontario and across Turtle Island. This month explore Indigenous cultures, heritage and events. 

If you would like to explore the diverse cultures, stories and traditions of Indigenous peoples, this collection highlights the work of Indigenous artists across Canada representing nations such as the Anishinaabe, Mohawk, Cree, Métis, Mi'kmaq, Haida, Plains Cree, Tlingit, and Inuit. It offers a glimpse of traditional and contemporary art forms in various mediums from carving in soapstone, bone, and wood, to mask making, weaving, textiles, beadwork, embroidery, printmaking, drawing, painting, photography, and mixed media.
