During the month of September, the Education Library is hosting an interactive exhibit titled “We Stand With You” by the Limestone District School Board, Kingston Arts Council, and the Kingston School of Art. The library was also given the opportunity to host the “Pride Quilt collaboration”, by the LDSB, for a second time.
Both exhibits aim to “cultivate community through not only the final product, but also the act of collaborating across communities and participating in relationship building as 2SLGBTQ+ community members and allies.” Visitors are encouraged to “leaf” messages for other members in the community, as well as take a message with them or share a new message with others.
Messages can include reflections on how to stand with and support 2SLGBTQ+ community during Pride month and beyond, messages of solidarity, allyship, and more.
The Education Library has prepared blank leaves for visitors to write messages and hang on the tree during the month of September. The exhibit is located on the first floor in the main area of the library.
