Preparations for the Winter 2026 term are underway at the Library and we invite you to submit your Course Reserves reading lists by December 12 to ensure that items are available for your students through your onQ course sites or in our print reserves collection on the first day of classes. Course Reserves reading lists can be submitted to the library via email: library.reserves@queensu.ca.
Course Reserves reading lists that are submitted after December 12th will still be processed but course materials may not be available on the first day of classes:
- It can take up to two weeks for ordered course materials to ship, arrive, and be processed;
- Copyright permissions and licenses can take up to two weeks, depending on publishers’ timelines; and
- The Library will be closed during Queen’s University’s holiday closure from December 24th through January 4th – any Course Reserves reading lists submitted during the holiday closure will be processed beginning on January 5th.
It is not necessary to have your onQ course site activated before submitting your Course Reserves reading lists. We can process your reading lists in advance and connect them to your onQ course sites when they have been activated.
The Library’s Course Reserves service is the easiest way to ensure that course materials comply with Queen’s Copyright Compliance and Administration Policy and the Canadian Copyright Act.
