The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is September 30, 2025, and during that time, campus-wide events have been organized to acknowledge the solemn importance of this day.
All academic activity will be suspended on September 30, 2025, to give space for staff, students, and faculty to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
During this time our libraries will remain open as important spaces for connection and reflection. Several library locations have books displayed for those who are interested in resources. This includes Humanities, Business, and Social Sciences in Stauffer Library, Education, and Law. Queen’s University Archives will also bring the MacMartin Diaries to Queen’s Park this month.
Those who wish to show support for survivors of the residential school system by wearing orange on September 30 are encouraged to do so.
Orange t-shirt sales will take place on campus from September 23-26, and September 29-30. All proceeds from t-shirt sales will be donated locally to the Kahwa:tsire Indigenous-Led Child and Family Programs in Tyendinaga. The NDTR Working Group commissioned art by Cree artisan Jaylene Cardinal in 2023 to produce orange t-shirts for sale on campus.
Activities for the 2025 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation can be viewed on the Office of Indigenous Initiatives NDTR webpage.
